I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues using a Cognitive-Behavioral therapy (CBT) based approach to treatment. I also utilize mindfulness-based approaches to assist individuals with developing a greater level of self-awareness, acceptance, and overall sense of well-being. I personalize my treatment approach in a manner that will meet the unique needs and strengths of each client, which may include utilizing other forms of therapy in conjunction with CBT and mindfulness. Therapy is approached as a collaborative process where the client and I work together to discover solutions to life's problems.
I devote a signicant portion of my practice to working with women to address issues relating to career and work-life balance, parenting, stress management, body-image, and care-taking. Women's issues therapy is not about placing blame on males for some of the challenges that women face. Rather, it is about empowering women to achieve a sense of balance and control over their lives while learning to balance their own wants and needs with those of others around them. Support is also provided to women in being able to recognize and accept themselves for who they truly are.
